Returning to Familiar Streets

Sometimes you don't need a new city.

You just need new eyes.

For the past few months, I've been focused on larger projects, interviews, storyboards, documentary work, and building something that feels bigger than a single photograph.

This month I felt the pull to simply walk again.

No assignment.
No expectation.
Just wandering downtown San Antonio with a camera.

Funny enough, the city hadn't changed.

I had.

The things that caught my attention weren't the landmarks, but the reflections in storefront windows, the blur of a passing cyclist, handwritten signs, worn architecture, and the quiet moments tucked between the obvious ones.

It's a reminder I need every so often.

Photography isn't always about finding somewhere new.

Sometimes it's about learning to see somewhere familiar all over again.
